I am really sorry that I haven't kept y'all updated for the last year. The simple reason is that I have been incredibly busy as producer and bandleader of Malford Milligan & The Southern Aces. Our new album "Life Will Humble You" came out late October last year, took off as a sky-rocket and started a true roller coaster year for all of us.
The album entered the Euro Americana Chart at the #1 position in November, and stayed at that #1 spot for three full months !! On top of that the album was voted "Best Americana Album Of The Year" on the Euro Americana Chart, as well as on several other Roots-Music websites. We were also really excited about the great number of 4 and 5-star CD-reviews in all important magazines and webzines.
We have just finished a very succesful CD-Release tour last February and March, 13 very well attended clubshows all over the Netherlands, 7 of these shows were sold out !!
Then we went to Texas in April to play some CD-Release shows over there, which also was a lot of fun to do, all shows were very well attended as well. The album went straight to the #1 position in the sales-chart of Waterloo Records in Austin TX, Malford's former hometown.
This summer we will be playing several festivals in The Netherlands and Belgium, plus a few clubdates. Also we will be recording a brandnew single this summer, to be included on the 2LP vinyl-version of the album that is scheduled for release sometime in the fall.
Then from late September until June 2020 we have about 70 shows scheduled in theaters all around The Netherlands, as special guests in Johan Derksen's theatershow "The Sound Of The Blues And Americana". During these 8 months we will also be playing a small number of selected club-dates.

MALFORD MILLIGAN AND JACK HUSTINX TEAM UP AGAIN FOR NEW ALBUM
Malford Milligan and Jack Hustinx are officially announcing a new album the two have been collaborating on for the last year.
Both Malford and Jack have been writing music behind the scenes for a new Malford Milligan album that will be produced by Jack Hustinx.
Milligan and Hustinx have been good friends for more than two decades. They last collaborated on 4 tracks for Hustinx' successful previously released solo-album "Over Yonder" that was followed by a tour back in November of 2015 in The Netherlands, Hustinx’ native land. There hasn't been an album with the two as a team since 2002 when Milligan's critically acclaimed album "Sweet Cherry Soul" was released and produced by Hustinx as well.
During the last 18 months Milligan and Hustinx have been writing a great deal of new material that will be the backbone of the new album, including a few songs written by a dear friend to both, the late Stephen Bruton. The sound is soulful, rootsy, groovy, stripped-down, intense, organic and intimite.
Recordings will take place this summer in The Netherlands, a deliberate choice made by Milligan because he wants to record with the same all-star line-up of Dutch musicians that formed the band (The Southern Aces) with whom they toured the European lowlands in late 2015.
Release of the album is slated for late October 2018 on the hot & new Dutch label Royal Family Records (founded by renowned Dutch singer/songwriter JW Roy), and will coincide with a tour in The Netherlands scheduled sometime in February 2019. Spring of 2019 will have both Milligan and Hustinx back in the states for shows in Austin and other cities in Texas.
While in The Netherlands this summer, Malford Milligan & The Southern Aces will perform at two exclusive live-shows (dates and venues can be found in the tourdates section).

Jack Hustinx plus Southern Aces bandmembers Roel Spanjers and Roelof Klijn have been invited to do a residency concert-series at the historic theater-room of De Rozenknop in Eindhoven NL. Concert-dates are scheduled from October 2017 until July 2018.
